Google is finally bringing a very subtle but oh-so-essential functionality to phones running Android and iOS. If you use YouTube often on your smartphone, you will find that it will change your life. It was available on the web and is now coming to Android and iOS phones. This is the Add to Queue feature.
When we’re on the go, the Add to Queue feature is probably the most useful. Allows you to add a video to the current playlist. If in YouTube on mobile it is possible to save a video to a playlist or “save to watch later”, managing the list of currently playing videos is much less instinctive, because the famous snake is conspicuous by its absence.
Currently, only the “Save to watch later” or “Save as…” features are offered on both Android and iOS. You must select one of these lists to know what videos will be played next. This will force you to save the video to a list and later delete it. The advantage of the queue is that it is temporary. Once read, once deleted.
YouTube Premium subscribers can try the Add to Queue feature
The operation of Add to Queue on mobile is identical to the web version of YouTube. All you have to do is click on the three vertical dots at the bottom right of the player, then click Add to end of queue. The selected video will be added to the end of the current playlist. You can see the latter below the video on the screen. Just drag and drop a video to change the playback order. To delete the playlist, close the relevant player by clicking on the cross.
